Description

This position is responsible for the design, maintenance, and availability of Valley Queen’s core network system. This position is responsible for the internal and external security of Valley Queen’s systems including its network and firewall.

Essential Functions

  • Design/setup/modification of Cisco firewall and network to protect company from internal and external cyber threats.
  • Configure security settings for groups and individuals based on established Valley Queen standards and guidelines.
  • Evaluate and develop effective approaches to IT Network security solutions.
  • Coordinate with Valley Queen employees to ensure planned system downtime is communicated.
  • Design/setup/modification of the plant network to conform to best practice design recommended by Rockwell Automation for redundancy and resiliency to prevent unplanned network outages.
  • Coordinate with managed service providers to perform necessary upgrades to infrastructure.
  • Develop technology strategies and perform complex security planning based on metrics from intrusion detection and prevention systems.
  • Create network policies and authorization roles, defending against unauthorized access, modifications, and destruction.
  • Proactively assess potential security risks, vulnerabilities, and opportunities for Valley Queen network.
  • Create and maintain proper documentation for configurations, inventory, procedures, and login information.
  • Understand and contribute to department’s level two scorecard in the areas of security and availability of the company’s core systems like HMI and Cisco network.
  • Maintain highest level of confidentiality with company information at all times.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position is also responsible to be on call on a rotating schedule which will include evening and weekend work.

Travel

Occasional overnight travel may be necessary for training.

Physical Demands

The physical demands for this position are mainly able to do sedentary work. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently will need to sit, stand, walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

Required Education, Experience & Certifications

Bachelor's degree in computer/network security, information technology or related field and/or equivalent experience. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of LAN/WAN networks, TCP/IP protocols and network technologies required. Working knowledge of Microsoft business applications, VMware Virtualization, and Cisco networks.

Preferred Education, Experience & Certifications.

Hands-on experience with common PC software and hardware and A+ and Cisco certifications are strongly preferred. Bilingual in English/Spanish.
