Description

Summary:

Performs set-ups, reconditioning, basic service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural and turf equipment. Will work with direction or guidance from the Service Manager or senior technicians. Responsibilities:

  • Performs set-ups and reconditioning of company owned equipment
  • Participates in Service EDUCATE Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge
  • Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
  • Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools and equipment
  • Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
  • Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
  • Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
  • Accounts for all time on a timecard and for all material used in performing assigned duties
  • Interacts in a positive and respectful manner with customers and fellow employees
  • Actively assists in recruiting service work
  • Shares knowledge and skills with other company technicians
  • Assists other technicians as assigned to increase total shop productivity
  • Maintains and promotes a safe work environment. Demonstrates understanding of and ability to follow all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required
  • No technician experience or formal training/education required
  • Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following Technical Manuals
  • Basic mechanical knowledge
  • Ability to use a forklift/skid loader
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills
  • Required tools and training will be provided

Physical, Mental and Other Requirements:

  • Frequent bending and stooping
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. frequently
  • Standing for extended periods of time
  • Occasional work outdoors in extreme heat or cold, rain or snow
  • Occasional work on ladders
  • Occasional work in confined spaces
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends
  • Valid drivers license with an insurable driving record required
  • Must pass a pre-employment background study
